Local Harvest Dinner Celebrating the Publication of Judy Wick's

 “Good Morning, Beautiful Business”

Wednesday, September 11, 2013

We are honored and excited to be hosting the one and only Judy Wicks for a Harvest Dinner in celebration of the recent publication of her new book 'Good Morning, Beautiful Business'. As most are aware, Judy is the original 'Farm to Table' pioneer in Philadelphia. As the owner of University City's White Dog Cafe (from 1983 to 2009), Judy tirelessly pursued local, organic, sustainable and humane farms to provide the best ingredients for her kitchen and guests. What many don't know, however, is that Judy's dedication to local food is but a small part of her larger philosophy of entrepreneurship. Focusing her business efforts not primarily on profit, but on other issues like minimizing environmental impact, promoting positive social change, eliminating creulty to animals, and offering a living wage to all employees, Judy's business approach is truly revolutionary.

100% of the proceeds for the Harvest Dinner are going to Philadelphia's The Food Trust. For over 20 years, the Food Trust has been dedicated to ensuring Philadelphians access to affordable, nutritious food and information to make healthy decisions. In the two decades since opening, The Food Trust has worked with neighborhoods, schools, grocers, farmers and policymakers in Philadelphia and across the country to change how we all think about healthy food and to increase its availability.

Don't miss this opportunity to hear from one of America's most progressive business thinkers, benefit Philadelphia's finest fresh food philanthropies, and enjoy a local, sustainable, end of the summer meal.
